The News Trading Rule applies only to funded accounts.

Evaluation accounts are not subject to this rule.

This rule is designed to ensure fair trading conditions during periods of high market volatility and to prevent trading activity that takes advantage of extreme market movements around major economic announcements.

Legion Funded will refer exclusively to the My Forex Factory economic calendar to determine:

Only events marked as High Impact on My Forex Factory, including High Impact speeches, are subject to this rule.

Medium-impact and low-impact news events are not included.

Funded traders are not allowed to open or close trades within 5 minutes before or 5 minutes after a High Impact news event or speech affecting the traded instrument.

This creates a total restricted window of 10 minutes around the scheduled event:

This rule applies regardless of whether the trade was profitable or losing.

If a trade is opened or closed during the restricted news window, the profit generated from that trade will be removed from the account.

The trade may remain visible in account history, but any profits resulting from the violation will be deducted during account review or payout processing.

A High Impact event is scheduled for 2:00 PM

Restricted window:

If a trader opens a trade at 1:57 PM, profit from that trade will be removed.

A trader opens a trade at 1:45 PM but closes it at 2:03 PM

Since the trade was closed during the restricted window, profit from that trade will be removed.

A trader opens a trade at 2:06 PM

This is outside the restricted window and is permitted.

To avoid violations, traders are strongly advised to avoid all trade execution activity around high-impact news releases and speeches.
