Daily Drawdown

What is the daily drawdown limit?

Written by PS

The daily drawdown is the maximum loss you can incur in a single trading day, calculated from the start-of-day balance or equity (whichever is higher).

The Daily Drawdown calculation begins at the start of each daily candle (broker time), which is 00:00 GMT+3. At this rollover point, your Daily Drawdown is reset based on the higher of your balance or equity.

Your account equity must remain above the daily drawdown limit throughout the trading day.

What are the Daily Drawdown limits?

The daily drawdown limits vary by account model:

Account Model

Daily Drawdown

2-Step Model

4%

1-Step Model

3%

Instant Funding

3%

Fast Track

3%

The same limit applies during both the evaluation and funded stages unless otherwise stated.

How is the Daily Drawdown calculated?

The Daily Drawdown is calculated using the higher of your balance or equity at the beginning of the trading day (00:00 GMT+3, broker time).

Example (2-Step Model – $100,000 Account)

  • Start-of-Day Balance: $100,000

  • Daily Drawdown: 4%

  • Maximum Daily Loss: $4,000

  • Minimum Equity Allowed: $96,000

If your account equity falls below $96,000 at any time during the day, the Daily Drawdown limit has been breached.

How does the Daily Drawdown work on a 1-Step, Instant Funding, or Fast Track account?

Example ($100,000 Account)

  • Start-of-Day Balance: $100,000

  • Daily Drawdown: 3%

  • Maximum Daily Loss: $3,000

  • Minimum Equity Allowed: $97,000

Your account equity must remain above $97,000 throughout the trading day.

When does the Daily Drawdown reset?

The Daily Drawdown resets at the beginning of each new daily candle (broker time), which occurs at 00:00 GMT+3.

At each rollover, the system recalculates your Daily Drawdown using the higher of your account balance or equity at that moment.

For example, if your account balance increases from $100,000 to $102,000 by the end of the trading day, your next day's Daily Drawdown will be calculated using $102,000 (or your equity if it is higher) at the 00:00 GMT+3 rollover.

What happens if I exceed the Daily Drawdown?

Exceeding your Daily Drawdown limit results in an immediate hard breach.

Example:

  • Start-of-Day Balance: $100,000

  • Daily Drawdown Limit: 3% ($3,000)

  • Minimum Equity Allowed: $97,000

If your account equity drops to $96,900 at any point during the trading day, the Daily Drawdown has been breached, regardless of whether the trade later recovers.

Important Notice

If your account equity falls below the minimum equity threshold calculated for that trading day based on the applicable Daily Drawdown limit, your account will be considered to have incurred a hard breach.

Upon a hard breach, all open positions will be automatically closed by our risk management system, and the account will be permanently terminated. This process is fully automated and cannot be reversed.
